This is a historical fiction book that is great for everyone. Stones in Water is about a boy name Roberto with his friends Memo and Samuele (Enzo) who are taken from a movie theater by German soldiers. They are sent on a train that takes them to a work camp will they will be fed rations and worked for countless days. Although this book has many good things about it, there are two main reasons why I loved it so much and one why I didn’t like it. The first one is that the characters can relate so much to people in how they do things and in how they act. For example, the main character, Roberto, is a child that loves to have fun, can be helpful, and is able to stand up for himself. Another reason why I adore this book so much is because of the action that goes on. Almost every two pages, there is problem that may involve a gun fight or someone running from a predator. The shocking events have a major impact on the action that takes place in the story. the only reason that I did not like the story is because it was so short. It was only two-hundred pages with huge font. When I found this story, I wanted it to go on and on and on. It was physically impossible for me to put down the book after I started. I could have read for two days straight! I strongly recommend this book for boys and girls. Adults may love this book too. It has some violence and gore content in it.
